An important film festival in the US expressed interest in negotiating the world premiere of We Put the World to Sleep! It’s the second festival expressing early interest in the movie! (a top European fest emailed me twice a couple of years ago)

We’re going to be featured shortly in a top European film publication as well! And also in a catalogue of upcoming Romanian films which will be presented at the Berlin Film Market, and later in Cannes!

So things are good! We’re moving in the right direction!

By the way, an advice for indie filmmakers: promote your project as much as possible in advance, even before shooting the film! These invites I got didn’t come out of nowhere, they’re the result of the recent wave of news in different indie publications, and the news also didn’t come just because of my Facebook posts, I’ve sent press releases to tens of publications! Publicity is the key!

Hi, everyone!

I’ve decided to remove the LGBT & feminist elements from We Put the World to Sleep‘s concept to not risk harming those communities. Here’s the new storyline: Three young idealists disappointed with the world join forces and embark on a mission to bring everything to an end. Starring Erisse Peterson, Duru Yucel Tofei and myself.

I’ve also decided to accept $1,000 investments! Here are the new minimums:

• $1,000 for the Very Special Thanks credit
• $5,000 for the Associate Producer credit
• $10,000 for the Executive Producer credit

Right now we have $15,000 from two investors and we need $35,000 more until latest December 31, 2017 in order to start shooting in the beginning of 2018. You will recover your investment when the film recovers its budget, and after that you’ll receive a percentage of the profits according to your investment!

Due to concerns from the LGBT and feminist communities, and also because of budgetary constraints and creative reasons, I’ve decided to drop the LGBT and feminist elements from We Put the World to Sleep‘s concept. The three main characters in the movie embark on a mission to bring everything to an end. During improvisations, we would have to be extremely careful to not portray the gays and the feminists as destructive, which would paralyze the creative process and wouldn’t allow us to go fully psycho and do a really dangerous movie. So, the best solution is to remove the LGBT and feminist elements from the concept to not risk harming those communities, and focus on the apocalyptic goal with no restraints to deliver the shock waves.

Hi, everyone! I’m looking for investors for my next film, the apocalyptic sci-fi feature We Put the World to Sleep about two young idealists who embark on a mission to bring everything to an end with the help of an advanced android.

We’ll sign contracts, you’ll be officially credited as executive producer or associate producer on the movie’s end credits and IMDb, you’ll be part of the team and go to film festivals where the movie will be selected (I aim for the top ones – Sundance, TIFF, SXSW, Telluride, Tribeca, Cannes, Berlin, Venice) and we’ll do everything possible for the movie to make money so that you’ll recover your investment plus profit!

For the executive producer credit you need to invest minimum $5,000 and for the associate producer credit you need to invest minimum $2,500. Thanks to our first investors (Danha Yunes recently joined as our second executive producer), we already have $10,000 of the $50,000 needed budget. As of today, January 7, 2017, I can only accept $15,000 more investments in total. The rest of the money will be raised via an Indiegogo campaign. Deadline for receiving the investments: February 27, 2017.
